The Path Forward

Chronic pain can be debilitating, disempowering, and contribute to depression, anxiety and fatigue. It can also be greatly mis-understood and as a result, unsuccessfully treated. There is new neuroscientific information supported by clinical studies and outcomes that show chronic pain to be a biopsychosocial experience rather than simply one of structural damage in the body.

To share this new understanding and effective tools and techniques for addressing pain holistically, I have begun teaching a six week workshop that I am calling The Path Forward. In this course I share this new understanding of pain neuroscience, and empowering tools to change how pain shapes your life.

The foundation for the course is Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) which is an evidence-based approach for treating chronic pain. Rooted in neuroscience, PRT focuses on rewiring neural pathways in the brain to unlearn the pain response.  Other tools from my 32 years in mind/body medicine as a yoga instructor and naturopathic physician will also be shared.

The tools shared in this course are applicable to many chronic conditions.  In addition to pain they can be used to address migraine headaches, digestive issues such as irritable bowel syndrome, tinnitus, anxiety and more.  The purpose is for you to feel empowered in relationship to your body’s expressions, and to learn tools that are applicable, not just to your current circumstance, but to each moment that life presents.
